Beena Antony clarifies video with Siddique, says ‘Comforting him was out of long-standing bond’

Actress Beena Antony has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video featuring her and actor Siddique, which has been circulated misleadingly. The video, showing Beena comforting Siddique during an 'AMMA' meeting, has sparked personal attacks and speculation.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Beena clarified that the video was recorded after Siddique's son, Sappy, had passed away, and she expressed her concern over the personal attacks directed at her in connection with the footage.



Beena explained that her interaction with Siddique was rooted in a deep and long-standing relationship. She revealed that she has known Siddique's son since he was a child and described Siddique as someone who has always treated her like a sister. Despite her inability to offer condolences in person at the time of Sappy's death due to illness, Beena felt it important to show her support when she next saw Siddique at the 'AMMA' meeting where the video was filmed.

The actress shared the video on Instagram with a caption, “Please ellaavarum ithonnu kelkkanam... it's my humble request.” (Please everyone listen to this…it’s my humble request.”

In the Instagram video, Beena recounted the circumstances surrounding the viral video, noting that her relationship with Siddique and his family was longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. She recalled visiting Siddique's home with her mother when his son was young and being warmly received by his late wife and mother.

Reflecting on the current crisis within the film industry, Beena acknowledged the heightened distress and anxiety following the mass resignation from 'AMMA.' She emphasized that while any allegations against Siddique should be thoroughly investigated and addressed appropriately, the character assassination directed at her must stop.
