Nithin Paul is hitting the big league, what with him signing up for his third film in a very short time. The model-turned-actor, who made his debut in Shaji Kailashs King And Commissioner as a major from the Pakistani Army, has been grabbing eyeballs. Even before his second film, Cinema Company, directed by Mammas, hit the screens, the upcoming actor has bagged another impressive project, Sooryan Kunisserys DYSP Shankunni Uncle, alongside Baburaj. Cinema was always a priority, while modelling continues to be a passion. In fact, I consider my stint as a model as a stepping stone to cinema. I concentrated more on TV commercials than the ramp and luckily, things worked out in my favour, says Nithin.
The kind of experimentation that filmmakers in the Malayalam industry are currently in is yet another factor that attracted Nithin to the industry. The fact that Malayalam cinema is experimenting with new stories, broadening horizons and willing to take a risk with new faces only reassures my decision to be part of this great industry, says Nithin, who lists out Mohanlal, Prithviraj and Fahadh Faasil as his role models in the industry. Though, Nithin adds, I am not keen on being a superstar; I just want to play characters that can make a difference to the story of the films I sign up for.
