December 23 is a special day for Suresh Gopi. The particular date is very important in his career as two of his blockbuster films were released on December 23. The iconic film ‘Manichithrathazhu’ turned 27 years on December 23. Suresh Gopi played Nakulan, one of the lead characters in the film. Suresh Gopi starrer 'Thenkashipattanam' also clocked 20 on the same day.Both the films play a pivotal role in Suresh Gopi’s career and the actor has now recalled the memories of the film. The superstar also shared that December 23 is a day he will cherish forever.

Hats off to all the eminent artists and technicians who had worked alongside them, especially its creators Fazil sir and Rafi - Mecartin. 23rd December brings back too many moments, memories, fun, and laughter. A date I'll cherish forever! ️,” Suresh Gopi said, in his Instagram post shared on Wednesday.

‘Manichithrathazhu’ released in 1993 was directed by veteran filmmaker Fazil. The film featured Shobana, Suresh Gopi, and Mohanlal in the lead roles. One of the best classics ever made in Malayalam, ‘Manichithrathazhu’ was a huge blockbuster. The success of the film attracted filmmakers from around the country and it was remade in many languages including Bollywood.
Meanwhile, ‘Thenkashipattanam’ was released in 2000. The film was written and directed by Rafi Mecartin and actors Lal, Suresh Gopi, and Dileep playing the lead characters.
On the work front, Suresh Gopi has recently wrapped up the filming of his next ‘Kaduva’.
