The iconic film ‘Manichithrathazhu’ turned 27 years on December 23. Suresh Gopi played Nakulan, one of the lead characters in the film. Suresh Gopi starrer 'Thenkashipattanam' also clocked 20 on the same day.

‘Manichithrathazhu’ released in 1993 was directed by veteran filmmaker Fazil. The film featured Shobana, Suresh Gopi, and Mohanlal in the lead roles. One of the best classics ever made in Malayalam, ‘Manichithrathazhu’ was a huge blockbuster. The success of the film attracted filmmakers from around the country and it was remade in many languages including Bollywood.
Meanwhile, ‘Thenkashipattanam’ was released in 2000. The film was written and directed by Rafi Mecartin and actors Lal, Suresh Gopi, and Dileep playing the lead characters.
On the work front, Suresh Gopi has recently wrapped up the filming of his next ‘Kaduva’.
