Dev Mohan, Samantha Akkineni in pan-Indian movie 'Saakunthalam'

Malayalam actor Dev Mohan has bagged a pan-Indian project, in which he would be working with Tamil-Telugu actress Samantha Akkineni. The mythological movie is titled and based on the popular story

, and it is directed by Gunasekhar. In the film, Dev plays Dushyanthan, while Samantha appears as Sakunthala. The film will go on floors this month itself.

Confirming the news, Dev tells us, “The shoot will be in Hyderabad. Currently, I am shooting for Malayalam film

and about 12 days of shoot is left for the same.” How did he win the role? The actor reveals, “The makers had seen my debut film and they zeroed in on me based on that project. It was a long process, with many preparations involved, like horse riding, sword fighting and the like, which took a month to learn.” The movie will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. As of now, the rest of the cast are not known.

Ask him whether he has met Samantha and Dev says, “Yes, I have already met her as part of the script discussions. We might have one more session before the shoot goes on floors.”

Dev’s film Pulli, directed by Jiju Asokan, is touted to be a comedy thriller, which has the actor playing the leading role alongside a newbie, who is roped in as the female protagonist. The film also has Shine Tom Chacko, Indrans, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Kishore Kumar and Vettukili Prakash as part of its cast.
