Filmmaker Blessy is all set to present his most ambitious project, ‘Aadujeevitham’. The film, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, is set to hit the big screens tomorrow, March 28. Blessy has spent around 16- years nurturing this film, and all eyes are on 'Aadujeevitham'.
But did you know that Blessy started off his career directing Mammootty? Yes, that’s right! Blessy began his career as an independent filmmaker by directing Mammootty. His first film was the 2004 release ‘Kazhcha’. The film follows a six-year-old boy who is separated from his family and hometown after the devastating 2001 Gujarat earthquake. Mammootty, Padmapriya, Yash Gawli, and Sanusha played the lead roles in the film. ‘Kazhcha’ is a tale of humanity and compassion. The film was well received, and it bagged four Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Director and Actor.
Blessy was undoubtedly awed by Mammootty’s performance, and they collaborated later in 2006. The duo teamed up for ‘Palunku’. Mammootty, Lakshmi Sharma, Nazriya Nazim, and Nivedita played the lead roles in the heartbreaking film.
Meanwhile, ‘Aadujeevitham’, helmed by Blessy, is an adaptation of the eponymous, best-selling novel by Benyamin. In an earlier press release, the director said, “The greatest challenge in front of me was that The Goat Life is a subject with universal appeal, and I would have to stay true to its narrative style. The novel is based on some real incidents, and I want to captivate the viewers with each moment that something unbelievable happens to someone. The truth has never been stranger than fiction. The scale of the movie demands to be felt within the confines of a theater, and we are excited to bring this magnum opus to audiences around the world.”
