Did you know Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran is fond of these Malayalam movies?

National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran is a keen observer of films and the director has recently revealed his favourite Malayalam movies. In a recent Instagram interaction, the ‘Asuran’ filmmaker picked a few recently released Malayalam movies. The filmmaker added that he was quite impressed by movies like, ‘Sudani from Nigeria’, ‘Ee.Ma.Yau’, ‘Jallikattu’, ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’, ‘Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25’, and ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ among others.
Vetri Maaran has recently worked with Dhanush and Manju Warrier for ‘Asuran’. The movie also marks Mollywood actress Manju Warrier’s Tamil debut.
Meanwhile, Sudani has won the National award for the best feature film in Malayalam. Directed by Zakariya Mohammed the movie also won the state award. ‘Ee. Ma. Yau’ and ‘Jallikattu’ are directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and ‘Jallikattu’ even had its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival! ‘Prathi Poovankozhi’ is Manju Warrier’s recent release.
Meanwhile, ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ emerged as one of the most successful films of last year. The multi-starrer crossed the boundaries of the language and was discussed across the nation.
