In an interview with media, director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that he had initially approached Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran to play the role of Harold Das in Leo. He said that he was impressed by Prithviraj’s performance in films like Mumbai Police, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and Lucifer, and wanted to cast him as the antagonist opposite Vijay.

However, Prithviraj politely declined the offer, citing his prior commitments and date issues. He also expressed his admiration for Vijay and Lokesh. Subsequently, the role of Harold Das, the formidable and powerful gangster, was entrusted to the accomplished actor Arjun Sarja, who is expected to bring his own brand of charisma and intensity to the character.

Meanwhile, 'Leo' has already made a significant mark in Kerala, amassing more than Rs 13 crores in pre-sales figures. With positive reviews pouring in, the film is poised to create record-breaking figures at the box office in ‘God's Own Country’.
