Director Ranjith Sankar hails ‘OMG 2’, calls it a ‘Mast movie!’

Acclaimed Mollywood director Ranjith Sankar has showered praise on the Bollywood social drama film 'OMG 2,' featuring Akshay Kumar, as it begins streaming on Netflix. Ranjith Sankar took to his official Twitter handle to share his admiration for the film's screenplay, describing it as a "Mast Movie" that promises a complete entertainment package.

In a tweet, Ranjith Sankar expressed his admiration for 'OMG 2' by stating, "OMG 2! Brilliant screenplay! Mast movie!!"

'OMG 2,' directed by Amit Rai, is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film that explores the topic of sex education in India. It serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit 'OMG – Oh My God!' and stars the versatile Akshay Kumar, along with accomplished actors Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam Dhar.
‘OMG 2’ made its theatrical debut on August 11, 2023, receiving positive reviews from critics and grossing over ₹220.49 crore (approximately US$28 million) worldwide. It has earned the distinction of being the seventh highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023.
The storyline of 'OMG 2' revolves around a concerned citizen who takes legal action to mandate comprehensive sex education in schools, leading to a captivating and amusing courtroom drama. The film received good responses from the Kerala audiences even though it didn’t make much impact at the KBO due to Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ which had a long run in many theatres in Kerala.
Meanwhile, after the setback of his romantic drama '4 Years,' director Ranjith Sankar is set to make a comeback with the eagerly anticipated 'Jai Ganesh,' featuring the talented Unni Mukundan in a lead role. Ranjith Sankar has also previously hinted at directing a superhero film as he shared the character sketch for a superhero via his Facebook handle.
