Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s investigative comedy-drama movie ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ is slowly securing a good spot at the box office and the recent updates say that the film has crossed Rs 7 crores India net collections in just 6 days.
According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Mammootty’s investigative drama movie collected Rs 7.27 crore India net collections, and the India gross collections amount to Rs 7.45 crore—the worldwide collections for ‘Dominic and the ladies’ purse’ amounted to Rs 14.5 crore and the overseas collections are Rs 7.05 crore.
Although the overall collections look decent, the concern is regarding the day-wise Malayalam box office collections. On day 1 the film opened strongly with Rs 1.75 crore which was followed by Rs 1.2 crore, Rs 1.65 crore, and Rs 1.8 crore, Rs 47 lakhs, and Rs 40 lakhs, There is a strong volatility happening in the day-wise KBO collections which doesn’t look good in a long run.
ETimes exclusive rating for the film is 3 out of 5 stars and our review reads, “The story itself is intriguing, though, at a certain point in the second half, the audience may get a hunch of who the culprit is. The film is able to connect even a seemingly insignificant comment about the whereabouts of the victim and the perpetrator. There seems to be some misunderstanding of how local news telecast works, but that's beside the point. The dialogue are relatable and quirky which makes it fun. The film is layered and so are the characters. Gokul Suresh matches Dominic's vibe and so does Viji Venkatesh. They are like two satellites around the star. Of course, the star performer after Mammootty is Sushmitha Bhatt. She is spectacular. There are so many characters going in and out but the story warrants it.”
