ETimes Pic of the Day: When Arnold Schwarzenegger gave THIS body building advice to Abu Salim

It's well-known that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a major source of inspiration for most 80s kids, motivating them to pick up a dumbbell for the first time. But did you know that the Hollywood star himself was impressed by the physique of the Malayalam actor Abu Salim?

Well you heard it right! Abu Salim, who has appeared in several Malayalam movies, is a huge fan of the ‘Terminator’ star and once he had a brief meetup with him. Both of them also took a picture together.



During the release time of Shankar’s highly anticipated film ‘I’ starring Vikram in the lead, the Hollywood actor Arnold was called in for the audio launch function which was held in Madras.

Talking to Kaumudi Movies, Abu Salim revealed that it was actor Vikram who knew that he was an ardent fan of the Hollywood star, called him up to inform him about Arnold’s arrival. An all excited Abu went to Madras to see his icon.

Upon arriving at the Leela Palace hotel where Arnold was staying, Abu Salim was hold back due to the tight security. With the help of the Tamil stunt choreographer Besant Ravi, Abu Salim was able to come inside and meet Arnold at his room.

Abu Salim said in the interview that Arnold noticed his physique and asked him to come near. Patting on his chest, the Hollywood actor said, “Good physique.” Both of them even had a two minute long conversation about fitness and body building.

Arnold also gave him an advice by saying that one should build a good physique without the use of steroids. Both of the later took a pic together.


Later Abu Salim himself posted the pic of his social media handle and penned a note that read, “One of the happiest moments in my life .... Got good compliments from him for my body .... That made me really happier .. — with Arnold Schwarzenegger at The Leela Mumbai.”
