The 2020 release ‘Gauthamante Radham’ can never be discussed without the mention of Kalyani, the lady love of Gauthaman, the protagonist. It was Punya Elizabeth, who essayed the lovable girl Kalyani. Punya’s incredible screen presence surely added to Kalyani and Gauthaman’s chemistry and the songs from the movie are still ruling the hearts of music lovers.
Meanwhile, Punya is enjoying some serene time at her home in Aluva, following her vacay in Gokarna. As the global concern of the Coronavirus outbreak has also affected the state, the adorable actress is in self-quarantine. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Punya opens up about how she is utilising her time wisely.
“I feel I have started to observe things around me. I am investing more time in reading now,” said Punya who is in a Zen state of mind as she is spending her time being one with the cosmos during her self-quarantine period.
Taking a walk down the memory lane, Punya added, “I can see kids playing nearby. This self-quarantine actually took me 15 years back, to my childhood days. We were at Changanassery (Changanassery is a small town in Kottayam) then. I used to roam around and play with my friends. During the evenings, we paid visits to nearby houses for chit-chats. It was a wonderful time.”
“Yesterday, while taking a walk with my amma, we met our neighbors, had light conversations. I guess I haven’t seen them for so long. These things happen every day. But we don’t notice them and I think we all take it for granted. I feel my observation has increased a bit!” Punya giggled while she described how she felt being reconnected to nature and the world around her.
When asked if she had any suggestions for her fans regarding the precautions one should follow during the outbreak, she said, “I think ‘breaking the chain’ is very important. I don’t know how many people are taking it seriously. But the chance of spreading the disease is high. Anyone can get affected by the infection. It’s time to think wise and follow social distancing.”
