Remember, the hilarious Gangadharan, the Kappal Muthalali, in Punjabi house? Malayali’s can’t help but break into laughter seeing the acting prowess of the late Cochin Haneefa, who portrayed the role to perfection. Even after four years, the actor is much loved and remembered by his friends and associates in the film industry, and his death in 2010 by liver cancer left the industry mourning.

The actor who started his career as a mimicry artist, forayed into cinema with the film Azhimukham(1972) . After playing a number of ruthless villains in both Mollywood and Kollywood, he shifted to direction and made some feel good movies like Moonnu Masangalkku Munpu and Vatsalyam.
Haneefa has enacted so many noteworthy roles such as include Eldho in Mannar Mathayi Speaking, Pidali in Meesha Madhavan and the police inspector in Ee Parakkum Thalika. He also won the State Award for the supporting actor through Soothradharan.
