Gayathri’s character Greeshma is a young woman with strong Communist leanings, who is bold enough to stand up for the causes she is working towards, in the movie directed by debutant Jithin.

The film’s director Aashiq Akbar Ali says, “Greeshma is a normal girl when she is at home or in her college, where she works as a guest lecturer. However, when it comes to her ideals, she is fearless and doesn’t shy away from working for the causes she believes in, in the public domain. She is quite a revolutionary.”

Gayathri, who is acting opposite Anson Paul in the film, says it’s the film’s title that hooked her on to the movie, initially. “I felt it’s quite catchy and moreover, the character of a revolutionary offers me lots of space to perform. I liked it that Greeshma is bold and has clear ideals of her own.” The actress is also thrilled about her costumes in the film. “So far, I haven’t got many opportunities to wear saris in my films. Being a guest lecturer in a college, I get to wear plenty of them in this movie and that’s something I’m sure I would enjoy,” says the actress, whose upcoming movies are Naam in Malayalam and G V Prakash-starrer 4G in Tamil.

Anson Paul’s character Jayan is Greeshma’s love interest in the film, and according to Aashiq, theirs is a relationship which grew parallel to a public movement they are part of. “Just like the three layers in the movie, the characters are also shown going through kala (arts) and viplavam (revolution), ultimately resulting in a strong pranayam (love),” says Aashiq.

Niranjana Anoop also plays an important character named Aichumma aka Aisha in the movie, as a college student. Newbie Tanuja Karthik is cast in the prominent character of an SFI leader as well, in the movie.
