Dulquer Salmaan ventured into Malayalam cinema with the 2012 film ‘Second Show’. Despite being a legendary actor’s son, Dulquer debuted in showbiz without much of a grand launch. His first movie was with Srinath Rajendran, who was also a debutant then. Although the first movie didn’t work well, Dulquer Salmaan’s acting surely was a breath of fresh air. The charmer’s magic surely worked in his second movie ‘Ustad Hotel’ and there was no looking back for Dulquer Salmaan ever since then. From working in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies and emerging as a pan-Indian star to carving his own niche in the entertainment industry, Dulquer Salmaan has come a long way.

Life has come full circle for Dulquer Salmaan when he signed for ‘Kurup’, a movie helmed by his debut director Srinath Rajendran. The upcoming Malayalam movie is based on the life of Sukumara Kurup, Kerala’s most wanted fugitive. Dulquer Salmaan is essaying the role of Sukumara Kurup, the criminal and the role is undeniably the most challenging compared to any role the actor has done in the past. The movie is expected to hit the screens once the theatres reopen.

Filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews hardly needs an introduction. The ‘How Old Are You?’ director has always weaved magic onscreen and his association with Dulquer Salmaan is obviously worth the wait. The duo has joined hands for ‘Salute’ an upcoming Malayalam cop drama. Dulquer Salmaan is essaying the role of Aravind Karunakaran, Sub Inspector of Police. The ‘Cocktail’ actress Diana Penty too has roped in to play a pivotal role in the film. The filmoholics could expect an entertainer from ‘Salute’.

Popular dance choreographer Brinda is turning into a filmmaker with ‘Hey Sinamika’. The Tamil movie is touted to be a romantic comedy and Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Kajal Aggarwal are playing the lead roles. The ensemble cast working with Brinda master, for her directorial debut itself is the USP of the film. And as Dulquer Salmaan has already proved his acting chops in the Tamil movie ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’, you know what to expect!

Dulquer Salmaan had signed to play the lead in Telugu director Hanu Raghavapudi upcoming directorial. The yet-to-be-titled film will be releasing in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil languages, and speaking to us earlier the director has divulged that the film is set in 1964. “He is tailor-made for the character of Lieutenant Ram. There isn’t anyone else who would be a better fit for the role and Dulquer’s a great actor too,” the director said about casting Dulquer. The historic fiction is a love story and also has an army backdrop. The upcoming film undoubtedly has a lot of surprises in the box.
