' during a recent event said that he was looking for different roles, like the one he reprised in 'Kali'.

The actor also stated he does not plan to confide in just one role and is willing to experiment with his characters as he does not want to repeat himself in a certain role.'I ask for different roles. Or else you would feel bored. You would be typecast. When I watched 'Kali' even I felt my character hard to stomach. Sai Pallavi was so scared of the scenes with me, that she could not hold back tears. She had had similar experiences when she was studying in Coimbatore.

Vinod, who has also acted in a few Kannada films, expressed his desire to play Mohanlal's villain and said that he wants to act opposite actress Nandita Das.

Vinod's onscreen persona is in contrast to his gentle self; he was an altar boy in his parish for 10 years which ultimately gave him the confidence to face the crowd. The actor admitted to being a prankster in real life.
