Idam wins best feature at New Jersey film festival

Director Jaya Jose Raj’s story about an elderly lady, who turns the idea of the aged having to go to an old-age home on its head, has been doing very well on the international film circuit.

has won the best feature at the recently concluded

New Jersey India International Film Festival

. It was also selected to the Davis International Film Festival, Guwahati International Film Festival and Dhaka International Film Festival.

The film, starring Seema Biswas, tells of how an elderly woman tells her sons who try to put her in an old age home, that she will marry again so that she is not considered to be alone anymore. Seema won the best actress

award

for the role at the Ottawa India Film Festival, in Canada.
