Talk of doing roles as different as chalk and cheese and actress Ineya fits the bill perfectly. The Malayali actress, who rose to fame with a handful of films in K-Town, finds herself getting a flurry of offers closer home too. After turning superglam in 'Omega.exe' and 'Radio', Ineya will next be seen as a pulluvanpattu singer in Suresh Unnithans 'Nagabandham', in which she is paired opposite actor-director Lal. I play this girl called Chakkara, a pulluva girl whos the second wife of the character played by Lal, says Ineya, adding, While Kollywood has mostly seen me in these village belle characters be it in
Vaagai Sooda Vaa or
Mounaguru I got a break from it in M-Town with
Omega.exe and
Radio, both of which have broken the mould. Though, Im not keen on sticking to one particular type of roles, glamourous or not. In
Nagabandha, I get to play a very challenging role something thats entirely different from all the characters Ive done so far.
Meanwhile, her next Kollywood release is just around the corner and has Ineya all excited. I play this girl called Selvi, which is by and large one of the best roles in my career. Every woman will relate to her; for, theres a Selvi in all of us. The film sends out a strong message, which is relevant to todays society, given the times we live in, she says about her part in the
Thangar Bachan flick. While rumours are abuzz that shes stepping on to Tollywood with a Vaibhav Ravi film, Ineya chooses neither to accept nor deny it. Nothing has been confirmed yet, is all she would say.
