Iranian filmmaker Panah Panahi, renowned for his work as the director of 'Hit the Road,' expressed his admiration for the Malayalam film 'Saudi Vellakka.' Panah Panahi recently shared his appreciation for Tharun Moorthy's directorial venture, 'Saudi Vellakka,' on social media.
“Everything about casting and mise en scene and directing was perfect and so high level and was so cinema,” Panahi expressed in his note. The Iranian filmmaker also added that Tharun Moorthy has the potential to shine on a global level.
Panah Panahi’s note reads, “Hey brother, Sorry to respond late. I was on a long trip and after that i've got covid( a tough one). Im not completely well yet but feel better now. so I couldn't respond to my messages sooner. Actually I wanted to send you message and tell you how much I loved your directing on your movie. Everything about casting and mise en scene and directing was perfect and so high level and was so cinema. I truly believe you will be shine on internationall level in future soon. I thought that this film was so much better if it was cutted about half an hour of it (mostly the second half of it) and cut some extera music in some scenes. But you did great job and im so happy I watched your film and eagerly wait to see what you will make in future. Best wishes.”
Thaurn Moorthy was delighted by the response he received from the Iranian filmmaker.

Set in Saudi, a colony in Kochi, ‘Saudi Vellakka’ features Lukman Avaran, Devi Varma, Binu Pappu, Sujith Shankar, Dhanya Ananya and Gokulan are in the lead roles. The film revolves around an incident, where an old woman beats up a small boy when he accidentally hits her while playing cricket. His parents file a case against the woman, but is justice served? The film has received both national and international acclaim.
