Mohanlal is currently shooting for the film Lucifer, which is the first directorial venture of Prithviraj.
In his latest blog, the actor has waxed eloquent about being directed by Prithviraj, who was just a child during his initial days, and how many of his old associates are coming together for the film.
The actor starts off his blog with an observation.
''We often miss the beauty of the small things on our paths, amidst the hurry-burry of life,' he says. 'He himself tries to appreciate the beauty of it, and while doing that, has felt that life is something woven by someone sitting somewhere. He felt that everything in life is connected, while standing in front of the camera, being directed by Prithviraj for the film Lucifer. How fast time flies. I have acted with his father Sukumaran.''
''Also, Pachikka (Faasil ) before whom I did his first shot, 38 years ago, is now standing face to face with me, as an actor in this movie. The film has been written by
Murali Gopy, so of Bharath Gopi, who was dear to me. Indrajith, brother of Prithviraj, is also part of this movie. It was a rare meeting for sure. I feel it was all pre-destined. I see many of Sukumaran's mannerisms in Prithviraj. I am close to their family in Thiruvananthapuram. In Madras, Pachikka used to stay in Sukuvettan's place. He has seen Prithvi and Indrajith off camera, playing as kids.''
He goes on to talk about Prithviraj as a director. "He has many films as an actor yet he chose to direct, as it is his passion. It's a kind of high for him, with an element of trance. There is an actor in Prithvi the director but no director in me. If both of us realise what each other wants, there will be creations which astonish us as well. He has seen many generations come and go, and he has tried to remain an undying little flame amidst it all. "It only makes me more humble to stand before the new generation as an actor."
