It’s a wrap for Jayasurya starrer ‘Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer’; the Rome schedule awaits - See post

Jayasurya starrer fantasy thriller ‘Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer’ is heading towards post-production. The makers have wrapped up the shoot, after six schedules.

On Wednesday, October 16, the makers confirmed that they have wrapped up the shoot and only a short Rome schedule is pending.

Directed by Rojin Thomas, ‘Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer’ features Jayasurya in the role of Kadamattathu Kathanar, a legendary priest from Kerala, who was said to be possessing supernatural powers.

In a note shared on Instagram, the director spoke about how he and his team have been working hard for the past 18 months, “After #HOME, for the past three years, every single day, I’ve woken up with a prayer to give 100% of my heart and effort to ‘Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer’. Today, I’m filled with gratitude as we wrap up filming in 6 schedules over 212 days and 18 incredible months. All that remains is a short schedule to shoot in Rome.”

He added, “We have poured every bit of our passion, dedication, and sincerity into this film for the past three years. This journey has been about overcoming challenges and pushing boundaries, and I can say with absolute confidence that we are bringing something truly special to you. Kathanar is not just a film—it’s the result of relentless hard work, belief in a dream, and the power of a team united by love of filmmaking.”

Speaking about Jayasurya, he added, “And to Jayettan, who gave us the courage to keep going without taking on another project for two whole years—thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Anushka Shetty is also part of the team, and the director said, “It’s an honor to have Anushka Shetty, the pride of Indian cinema, as part of our team. She’s bringing her immense talent to the Malayalam film industry for the first time, and we couldn’t be prouder to share this milestone with her. As we move into post-production, I’m excited to share that the cast and crew details for Kathanar—featuring some of Indian cinema’s finest—will be revealed in the coming days.”


The film will soon go into post-production.
