Jayaraj's new film 'Bhayanakam's' trailer shows the scary face of war through a postman

The film is based on two chapters from Thakazhi's novel Kayar.
Director Jayaraj's latest film 'Bhayanakam,' which won him numerous awards at various platforms including the national awards, has an interesting story set in the times of war.

Recently, the movie's trailer was released and it shows the frightening face of war through the letters of a postman, played by Renji Panicker. Asha Sharath also plays a major role in the film, which is based on two chapters from the legendary writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai's famous novel 'Kayar.'



The story is set in Kuttanad and its backwaters during the World War II and revolves around a postman, who delivers money orders at homes of those who have joined the army. When the war intensifies, he starts bringing in telegrams declaring people dead and he slowly becomes an omen of death. Veteran music composer M. K. Arjunan won his first ever State Award for Best Music Director for his work in the film.
