Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram’s ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ gets a release date

‘Ashakal Aayiram’ starring the father-son duo Jayaram and Kalidas Jayaram is gearing up for release. After launching the first glimpse of the upcoming film, the makers have now announced the release date.Jayaram and his son Kalidas are reuniting 22 years after the release of their celebrated Malayalam film ‘Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum’. Though the father-son duo had earlier collaborated for the Tamil film ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’, Keralites were eagerly waiting for them to team up for a Malayalam film. The makers of ‘Aashakal Aayiram’ have now finally announced the release date. In a post shared on Instagram, the makers confirmed that the film will hit the big screens on February 6. “Ashakal Aayiram’ movie is releasing worldwide on 6th February 2026.”ID@undefined Caption not available.Talking about the film earlier, Kalidas Jayaram mentioned it as "a moment 25 years in the making," and is dedicated to father-son bonds, dreamers, and the feeling of ‘returning home’.‘Ashakal Aayiram’ is helmed by G Prajith, who had previously directed Nivin Pauly’s film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’, and Biju Menon starrer ‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo’. The recent glimpse shared by the makers showed a drunk father and son arriving home, and trying their best to pretend sober. Jayaram and Asha Sharath play a couple in the film, and Kalidas has roped in the role of their son. The glimpse has received a warm reception from the audience. Actors Sharafudheen, Ishani Krishna, Anand Manmadhan, Akhil NRD, Ramesh Pisharody, Dileep Menon, Zhins Shan, Rajesh Azhikode, Vaishakh Vijayan, Abhinand Accode, Mukundan, Anand Padmanabhan, Renjith Balachandran, Sudheer Paravur, Niharika, Bhagya, Kunchan, Shaiju Sreedhar, Raffi, Suresh Kumar, and Surya Balasubramanian are also part of the cast. On the technical front, ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ is jointly scripted by Aravind Rajendran and Jude Anthany Joseph. Swaroop Philip is the Director of Photography. Shafeeque VB is in charge of the edits. The music for the film is done by Sanal Dev.
