A casual chat about South Indian cinema turned into a funny moment between Jayaram and his son Kalidas.Recently the 'Aashakal Aayiram' actors were talking in Pearle Maaney show when Kalidas said something that made everyone smile, “I feel the South Indian film industry is making world-class movies now. And Tourist Family has even been picked as a Best Picture Oscar nominee.”

Jayaram answers back in the same playful way to Kalidas

When Jayaram heard what son Kalidas said, he immediately jumped in and added his own twist.Jayaram added that even his film 'Kantara' has been “selected” for the same award. Kalidas looked at him and asked with a smile, “the best picture nominee list?” Jayaram then replied that he does not know the exact category, but it has been “nominated.” It was clear that both father and son were joking with each other. They were not making big claims. They were just having fun. They both knew that no Indian film, including 'Tourist Family' or 'Kantara', had been nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
