who was the real reason why Sathyan Anthikad got the title ‘Makal’ for his upcoming movie.

During the function, Jayaram said that his daughter Malavika Jayaram came to see the shooting of the Sathyan Anthikad directorial film one day. While introducing his daughter to everyone, Jayaram used the word ‘Makal’ which translates to daughter. Sathyan Anthikad, upon hearing this word, immediately called Jayaram near and said that ‘Makal’ will be the title of the project.

Jayaram also said during the function that Sathyan Anthikad was really inspired by seeing a father proudly introducing his daughter to everyone using the term ‘Makal’.

After directing the short film ‘Panthibhojanam', Sreebala K Menon wrote and directed the Dileep starrer film ‘Love 24*7’ and the story was set in the backdrop of media.

Shalini Ushadevi directed the Fahadh Faasil starrer film ‘Akam’ which was the modern re-telling of the novel ‘Yakshi’ written by Malayatoor Ramakrishnan.

The Lal - Nazriya Nazim starrer ‘Maad Dad’ was the sophomore directorial venture of Revathy S Varma.

The Prithviraj Sukumaran - Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer ‘My Story’ was the directorial debut of Roshni Dinaker under the script penned down by Shankar Ramakrishnan.

It's hard not to mention these two beautiful crafts ‘Bangalore Days’ and ‘Koode’, when you contemplate on the best films of Anjali Menon.


The renowned director Sathyan Anthikad has said earlier in his Facebook post that it takes too much brainstorming for him to set the title of any film that he works on. For the same reason, most of his film’s title is only revealed after the shooting wrap-up.

The upcoming Sathyan Anthikad film ‘Makal’ will see the comeback of the talented actress Meera Jasmine after a long gap in the Malayalam film industry.

Recently, the makers of the film released the first look poster for the film featuring the actors Jayaram, Meera Jasmine, and Devika Sanjay. The film also sees the actors Naslen K Gafoor and Balaji Manohar in pivotal roles.

The script of the film is written by Iqbal Kuttippuram who is best known for penning down the script for the films, ‘Swapnakoodu’, ‘Gramaphone’, ‘Diamond Necklace’, ‘Vikramadithyan’ and the recently released
