Jeethu Joseph: ‘12th Man’ is a mystery movie

’ helmed by the celebrated filmmaker Jeethu Joseph is arriving this midnight (May 20), on a streaming platform. Since the ‘Drishyam’ duo are collaborating once again, the anticipation for the film has skyrocketed. Jeethu Joseph has recently divulged that ‘12th Man’ is a mystery movie, similar to Agatha Christie’s works.

The director shared that he heard the thread of ‘12th Man’, about two and half years ago from scenarist KR Krishna Kumar, and upon developing the script, they realized that Mohanlal’s role in the film is distinct from the ones he has done in the past couple of years. Jeethu Joseph also added that there are 12 protagonists in the film, and all of them have crucial roles in the film.

Speaking about filming for ‘12th Man’, Jeethu Joseph shared that the lion’s portion of the film was shot inside a resort, and since the shoot happened during the pandemic, they completed it in about 25 days, and they all were together the whole time.

Jeethu Joseph summed up by adding that since it's a mystery movie, the suspense would be the highlight of the movie, however, one does not have to compare ‘12th Man’ with the ‘Drishyam’ franchise, as both the movies follow a different pattern.

‘12th Man’ features Mohanlal, Unni Mukundan, Sshivada, Anusree, Anu Sithara, Saiju Kurup, Rahul Madhav, Aditi Ravi, Priyanka Nair, Leona Lishoy, Anu Mohan, Chandhunadh, Nandu and Pradeep Chandran in lead roles.
