Jyothirmayi has now opened up about how scared she was to learn a dancer sequence for the film. In an interview with Mathrubhumi, Jyothirmayi shared that she even considered fracturing her leg on purpose to escape from the dance sequences. She expressed that she was very tense at first and scared wondering how she would pull this off. She also recalled that the choreographers thought the steps they created were very simple.

Jyothirmayi said that it had been a few years since she even exercised properly, so dancing looked like a far-fetched idea. She added that the choreography team helped her tremendously, and that’s how they managed to film ‘Sthuthi’.

Penned by Vinayak Sasikumar, crooned by Mary Ann Alexander and Sushin Shyam, and composed by the latter, ‘Sthuthi’ grabbed eyeballs for its dynamic dance moves and racy tune. Though the song garnered the attention of the music lovers, a section of the audience was irked as it allegedly hurt religious sentiments.

Directed by Amal Neerad, ‘Bougainvillea’ features Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles. Actors Sharafudheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
