Karthi plays Mammootty's son in Yatra

Tamil actor Karthi will play Mammootty's son in his upcoming Telugu movie Yatra. The film is a biopic of Andra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy. Karthi will play his son Y S Jaganmohan. As per reports the director Mahi Raghav believes that Karthi's mannerisms and attitude matches Jaganmohan's and he is the ideal person to essay the role.

The film also has actors Rao Ramesh, Sachin Kundalkar and Anasuya Bharadwaj playing prominent roles. Yatra is structured as a road film, with stories woven into the timeline of the padyatra.

Mammootty was last seen in a Telugu movie Railway Coolie in 1998 though audience in this part of the world fondly remember him in K Vishwanath's Swati Kiranam in 1992.
