‘Kathiravan’: Major action star takes on a powerful role in big-budget Ayyankali biopic

Malayalam cinema is all set to witness the big-budget film ‘Kathiravan’ which is based on the life of a politician - social reformer Ayyankali. The movie will feature a popular action star in the lead role and is mounted on a big budget.

The makers officially announced the project with a title poster that has the tagline that reads, “History of action’. The movie will have its major focus on action and emotional drama.


‘Kathiravan’ will feature a popular action superstar in the lead role and even though the makers have not yet revealed the name of the lead actor, the expectations are quite high for this big budget-period action flick. ‘Kathiravan’ will start rolling soon. Earlier there were reports that Mammootty would be playing the lead role in ‘Kathiravan’ as the lead character ‘Ayyankali’.


‘Kathiravan’ is directed by Arun Raj who will also crank the lens for this epic action film. The script, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Pradeep K Thamarakkulam. The movie marks the second directorial venture of Arun Raj who had earlier received an award for the Best Cinematographer at an International Film Award. He has also cranked the lens for the movie ‘Welcome to Pandimala’


Arun Raj’s directorial debut was with the intense drama movie ‘Edwinte Namam’. With ‘Kathiravan’ soon to start rolling, the audiences are eagerly waiting for whether ‘Megastar’ of the Mollywood film industry will be stepping into the role of Ayyankali in this most awaited film.
