The Kerala government has taken a stance on the issue of the alleged acts of Malayalam actor Siddique, urging the Supreme Court to bring out the whole truth of the alleged acts of the actor before he is hailed as a historic figure by the future generation.
According to Mathrubhumi, recently, in its submission to the court, the government sought that Siddique be denied anticipatory bail in connection with the sexual assault case lodged against him, seeking to avoid any possible glorification of the actor in the public perception.
There is a fear that the complainant might withdraw her case if the actor's anticipatory bail is granted. However, evidence has already been gathered in the preliminary investigation by authorities.
The Kerala government requested the court to take care of the circumstances related to the complainant's case and ensure that justice is served.
Reports claim that the Kerala government has issued a caution that if his true character is not exposed, then he will be idolized by the future generation.
The move by the Kerala government is also in response to Siddique's reluctance to cooperate with the investigation.
Despite receiving interim bail from the Supreme Court, the ‘Nunakkuzhi’ actor has reportedly refused to assist investigators, a fact that was highlighted in the official reports submitted to the court.
During previous hearings, the Supreme Court questioned the delay in filing the complaint, as the alleged incident took place in 2016 but was only reported eight years later. The victim, who was 21 at the time of the alleged incident, reportedly said that Siddique’s influence and the power dynamics in the Malayalam film industry was the reason why she did not come forward with the complaint earlier.
On the work front, Siddique was last seen in the comedy entertainer ‘Nunakkuzhi’.
