Kerala State Film Awards: This is an award for VP Sathyan and a lot of Marykuttees around us : Jayasurya

Actor Jayasurya who has won the Best Actor Award at the Kerala State Film Awards for his power-packed performances in Captain and Njan Marykutty dedicated the award for Football legend VP Sathyan and the Marykutees around him.

He says, "This is not an award for actor Jayasurya but for VP Sathyan and a lot of Marykuttees around us. I am on cloud nine and I am glad that two extremely different characters that I have done are being recognised - VP Sathyan - a man of football and Marykutty- the transsexual. It was highly challenging to do both and I feel happy that my efforts are being noticed. I am also glad that these were two of my characters that were accepted by the public as well. I wouldn't have been so much happy if I had won an award for a film that was not seen by people and when the award is announced, everybody asking about the movie's details. I am thankful to Prajeesh Sen director of Captain and Ranjith Sankar, director of Njan marykutty for believing in me and giving me such power-packed characters."
