Veeram

, the actress has now signed Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s upcoming social satire titled Diwanji Moola Grand Prix.
On roping in the actress for the movie, Anil says, “She plays a bubbly girl-next-door kind of character. It’s not a glam role but the reason I cast her is that Ketaki’s personality matches that of her character.”

Agreeing with the director, Ketaki says, “The character mirrors how I am as a person — happy-go-lucky. It’s a 180 degree turn from what the Malayali audience saw in Veeram. I also have a romantic interest in the movie but I am not allowed to reveal more at this point.”
The actress says that she has watched Anil’s previous films – North 24 Kaatham and Saptamashree Thaskaraha. “He comes up with unique concepts and the characters of his films are raw — like the people you see in real life. There aren’t fictional layers added to them.”

The movie, co-scripted by Anil and collector Prashanth Nair, also has Kunchacko Boban, Nyla Usha and Joy Mathew. But the actress says the person she is eagerly looking forward to work with is Nedumudi Venu.
“I am familiar with his work from Anil’s earlier films. I am excited and at the same time nervous to share screen space with such an experienced actor,” she says.

Ketaki was also part of a Malayalam music video recently and had shot for a few days in Trivandrum for Veeram. “I will get to spend more time in Kerala and work with a larger team for this film,” she says. The movie will go on floors next week with Thrissur being the main location.
