‘L2: Empuraan’ box office collections day 7: Mohanlal’s action film surpasses Rs 84.40 crore mark

Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-anticipated film L2: Empuraan continues its strong run at the box office despite ongoing controversies. According to trade reports from the Sacnilk website, the film has collected an estimated Rs 84.40 crore in India net collections within its first seven days.


After a phenomenal opening day collection of Rs 21 crore, L2: Empuraan witnessed an expected drop on weekdays but maintained a steady pace. The film earned ₹5.50 crore on its seventh day across all languages, bringing its total to ₹84.40 crore.

Occupancy rates
The film’s performance remains impressive, particularly in the Malayalam market, where it continues to draw audiences. On its seventh day, L2: Empuraan recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 34.68%, with night shows leading at 44.64%. In the Telugu market, the occupancy stood at 9.84%, while in Tamil, it was at 15.46%.



Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan serves as the sequel to Lucifer and features an ensemble cast, including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran. With positive word of mouth and anticipation for the coming weekend, the film is expected to maintain its momentum at the box office.

Amid controversy, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial has undergone cuts or modifications in over 24 scenes, including the removal of actor Suresh Gopi’s name from the thanks card. On the other hand, Mohanlal will be next seen in Tharun Moorthy's 'Thudarum'.
