‘L2: Empuraan’ update: Did cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev opt out? Here’s what we know

‘L2: Empuraan’, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is one of the most eagerly awaited projects in Mollywood and is expected to mark the comeback of Mohanlal. The film's new shooting schedule recently commenced in Gujarat, focusing primarily on the backstory of Zayed Masood, the character played by Prithviraj himself. Mohanlal, who plays the lead role, is not part of the Gujarat schedule.

Recently, rumors surfaced suggesting that senior cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev has exited the project and will be replaced by National Award-winner Girish Gangadharan. However, Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team swiftly put these rumors to rest.

The actor-director shared a location still on his social media handles featuring Sujith Vaassudev, effectively confirming Sujith's continued involvement with the film. Prithviraj’s post was captioned, “#L2E #Empuraan #NightShoot #Gujarat @sujithvaassudev,” indirectly addressing and dismissing the rumors.

Additionally, Nirmal Sahadev, the associate director of ‘L2: Empuraan’ and known for his work on ‘Ranam’, shared a location still on Instagram. His caption, “#L2E Night shoots! Sneaking in when @sujithvaassudev leaves,” humorously reinforced Sujith’s presence in the project and further dispelled the rumors of creative differences within the team.

In another exciting development, Karthikeya Dev, who recently gained acclaim for his role in 'Salaar', has joined the cast of ‘L2: Empuraan’. His addition to the cast promises to bring an extra layer of depth and dynamism to the film.

Following the Gujarat schedule, the production team is expected to travel to the USA and the UK to complete the pending foreign shoots.
