Lal Jose revealed that his association with 'Aadujeevitham' began with profound admiration for Benyamin's novel. After expressing his keen interest in helming the film adaptation, he even registered his own production house for the venture. Plans were underway to collaborate with a British company, and Lal Jose had envisioned casting a fresh face alongside Prithviraj.

However, amidst speculations of his directorial involvement, Lal Jose received a call from director Blessy, who expressed his desire to explore a subject with parallels to 'Aadujeevitham'.

Given the significant overlap, Blessy sought Lal Jose's approval to take over the project or risk abandoning a year-long endeavor. Lal Jose said, "I felt that Benyamin would be more happy if Blessy directed 'Aadujeevitham'." Further he said that Benyamin would have forgotten this key incident which happened almost 14 years back. Despite his initial plans for an international production, Lal Jose prioritized casting a fresh face as Najeeb instead of a popular actor. He expressed satisfaction in Blessy taking up the director's cap for 'Aadujeevitham'.
