Lena on her wedding with astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, says it was an ‘arranged marriage’

Lena is over the moon, as she announced her wedding with Gaganyaan astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. Interestingly, the award-winning actress, best known for her work in Malayalam cinema, announced the big news a few hours after PM Narendra Modi announced astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair’s name in the Gaganyaan mission.
Lena took to Instagram and announced that she married astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair in an intimate and traditional wedding ceremony held in January of this year, 2023.She also revealed that the proposal was totally arranged.
The ‘Iyobinte Pushthakam’ actress also posted pictures with her husband Prasanth. The picture seemingly clicked at VSSC (Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre) in the state capital also has Isro chairman S. Somanath.
“Our Prime Minister, Modi ji, awarded the first Indian astronaut wings to Indian Air Force fighter pilot, group captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our country, our state of Kerala, and me personally. In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on January 17, 2024, in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage,” Lena said in her Instagram note.

For the uninitiated, Lena was earlier married to her childhood sweetheart and cinematographer, Abhilash Kumar. They got married in 2004 and parted ways in 2013.
Meanwhile, Lena recently debuted as an author with ‘The Autobiography of God’. She also made headlines for her thoughts on spirituality, modern medicine, and her comments on drugs.

On the work front, Lena’s last outing was ‘Qalb’.
