'Leo' to 'Odiyan': Top pre-sales blockbuster movies in Kerala

As anticipated, the Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj collaboration, 'Leo,' has not only exceeded expectations but also shattered all previous pre-sales records in Kerala. As the movie is getting highly positive reviews, ‘Leo’ is expected to achieve a remarkable opening figure at the Kerala Box Office (KBO). The most anticipated Vijay starrer ‘Leo’ had a wide release in Kerala with morning shows that started at 4 a.m. According to the sources, the pre-sales figures for the action flick ‘Leo’ crossed over Rs 13 crore. Reportedly, some of the screen counts for Mammootty’s crime drama ‘Kannur Squad’ were also reduced to occupy the grand release of 'Leo'.

After the underwhelming film ‘Odiyan’, the anticipation levels were really high for the Mohanlal starrer epic drama movie ‘Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham’. Due to the same reason, the pre-sales figures for the movie were really impressive. According to the sources, the pre-sales figures for Mohanlal-Priyadarshan’s ‘Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham’ amounted to Rs 6.6 crore.

Although Vijay and Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Beast’ is called one of the most underwhelming films of the Tamil superstar, the action flick had good hype before its release. According to the sources, Vijay’s ‘Beast’ minted Rs 6.6 crores in Kerala solely from pre-sales. Well-edited trailers and promotions could be one of the reasons for the whopping pre-sales figures for 'Beast'.

Yash’s ‘KGF 2’ earned much recognition from cinephiles, all thanks to the traction earned by its first part, which came with less hype. According to the Twitter forums that track the box office collection figures, Yash and Prashanth Neel’s action flick ‘KGF 2’ raked in approximately Rs 7.3 crores from pre-sales.
