Lijo Jose Pellissery: No sequel or prequel can happen without public acceptance of 'Malaikottai Vaaliban'
Renowned filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery addressed the criticism surrounding his latest film, 'Malaikottai Vaaliban,' during a press meeting. Responding to negative reviews, LJP expressed confusion over the ongoing negative campaign against the movie and acknowledged the impact of public reception on potential sequels.
Lijo Jose Pellissery, known for his unique storytelling, remarked that he cannot envision a sequel or prequel if the public does not embrace 'Malaikottai Vaaliban.'
The visionary director urged viewers not to form opinions solely based on the perspectives of others. He said, "The opinions of those who watch the morning shows that form a general opinion among the others too" He further questioned the necessity of doing negative campaigns for a movie.
Describing 'Malaikottai Vaaliban' as a fantasy-style film narrated in a fable-like manner, Lijo Jose Pellissery said, "'Malaikottai Vaaliban' is not powered by a Ferrari car's engine as it is told in a fable style" He emphasized the hidden layers, beautiful scenes, and intricate sounds embedded within the tale, urging audiences to experience them in theaters.
Addressing the critique that characters in the film seem incomplete, Lijo Jose Pellissery explained that there are intentional layers in the characters that were planned to be unveiled in the second part. Despite the negative reviews, the director affirmed his statement by saying, "Still no plans to change, no plans to impress."
