‘Makal’ trailer: Jayaram-Meera Jasmine starrer is a complete family entertainer

Veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad’s next ‘Makal’ is gearing up for release, and the makers have launched the trailer from the film. Featuring Jayaram, Meera Jasmine, and Devika Sanjay in the lead roles, ‘Makal’ is touted to be a family entertainer and the latest trailer confirms the same. Jayaram and Meera Jasmine apparently plays an interfaith couple, with a teenage daughter. The trailer suggests that Jayaram plays a Dubai returnee, who starts a pickle business after returning to his hometown. The trailer also gives a glimpse into some unexpected incidents that change the course of their lives.

In an earlier interview with ETimes, veteran actor Sidhique, who is part of the cast revealed, “'Makal' is similar to many other Sathyan Anthikad films, in terms of what it offers. We often hear people claiming that their upcoming film will be different from others, but in the case of ‘Makal’, it's a good Sathyan Anthikad film.

is playing the role of Meera Jasmine’s brother in the film.

Helmed by Sathyan Anthikad, ‘Makal’ is written by Dr. Iqbal Kuttipuram. Along with the trailer, the makers have confirmed that the film is releasing in the cinemas on April 29.

On the technical front, S Kumar ISC is the cinematography director, and K Rajagopal is the editor. Vishnu Vijay is the music director, Rahul Raj is composing the background score, and Harinarayanan is the lyricist.

Interestingly, ‘Makal’ also marks the comeback of Meera Jasmine after a while, and the cinephiles are eagerly waiting for the release.
