The collaboration between legendary filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and megastar Mammootty for their upcoming film, ‘Padayatra’, is generating significant buzz in film circles. However, in a departure from standard superstar releases, new reports suggest the film may bypass a wide theatrical release in favor of a specialized distribution strategy. The project marks the first time the duo has worked together since their National Award-winning collaborations in the early '90s. Recent reports suggest a possible shift in strategy, with discussions pointing towards a direct OTT release.

OTT release buzz for the Mammootty starrer

Such a strategy could position the film for critical appreciation before reaching a wider audience online. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers regarding this development so far.
