Veteran Telugu actor Krishna passed away on Tuesday (Nov 15), following a cardiac arrest. He was 79. He was admitted to a hospital in the early hours of Monday and was undergoing treatment. However, he breathed his last today around 4 am.

Superstar Krishna aka Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy was born on May 31, 1942 at Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Krishna began his career in the early 1960s, and later went on to dominate the industry with his roles in different genres of movies. In his career spanning over five decades, he acted in more than 350 films. He also directed and produced a few films. Known for his good-nature and courageous attitude, the late actor won hearts with his cowboy roles. He was also very keen on introducing advanced technologies in film-making.
Krishna is known for many landmark movies like 'Alluri Seetharama Raju' (19767), the first cinemascope movie in Tollywood, 'Eenadu' (1982), the first Eastman color film, and 'Simhasanam' (1986), the first 70 mm film.
The veteran actor’s demise has left the entertainment industry devastated and condolences are pouring in from across the country.
