Mammootty to begin shooting for Amal Neerad’s next on February 3

After almost a year since he last shot for a movie, Mollywood megastar Mammootty is all set to return to a film set with director Amal Neerad’s next. The actor, who last shot for Jofin T Chacko’s The Priest in February 2020, will face the camera on the first day of Amal Neerad’s movie on February 3, 2021, according to a report in a vernacular daily.

The film, which also has Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, will have Mammootty in a new get-up that will make use of his current look of overgrown hair and beard. Both Amal Neerad and Mammootty were set to team up for the sequel of

Big B

titled Bilal last March but the film was delayed due to the pandemic.

Bilal reportedly also has locations in foreign countries including Poland and the team will begin work on the movie only after the pandemic is under control at these places. The upcoming movie, meanwhile, will be a smaller film in comparison to Bilal and will be shot in Ernakulam. The title of the movie is expected to be revealed by the end of this month.

Mammootty, meanwhile, is also awaiting the release of The Priest that is expected to hit theatres on February 4. The megastar also has debutante Ratheena Sharshad’s film coming up, the pre-production of which has already begun. After the two projects, he will be shooting for the fifth film in the CBI Sethuram Iyer franchise. The actor will be finishing some patchwork left in Santosh Vishwanath’s One before he joins the Amal Neerad movie.
