‘Manhole’ film producer MP Vincent passes away

State award-winning film ‘Manhole’ film producer MP Vincent breathed his last on March 6, Monday. He was aged 81. Reportedly he was under medical treatment. MP Vincent is survived by his daughter-filmmaker Vidhu Vincent and other children Jose Vincent, Alvy Vincent, and his wife Alphonsamma.

‘Manhole’, helmed by the director Vidhu Vincent, revolved around the story of a manual scavenger’s daughter. The movie bagged the Best film award for the year 2016 at the Kerala State Film Awards. Vidhu Vincent became the first woman to win the Best Director award in the history of the Kerala State Film Awards.

‘Manhole’ also gained many positive responses from the audience at the IFFK 2016 and the movie also bagged the best Malayalam film award during the festival.

Helmed by the director Vidhu Vincent, the story of ‘Manhole’ was penned by the writer Umesh Omanakuttan and the movie featured the actors Renu Sounder, Munshi Baiju, Saji TS, Sunnykutty Abraham, and several others in significant roles.

Meanwhile, Vidhu Vincent has also helmed the movie ‘Stand Up which was released in the year 2019 and had the actors Rajish Vijayan, Nimisha Sajayan, Sajitha Madathil, and Arjun Ashokan in important roles.
