Manju Warrier mourns over the loss of Sreenivasan, drops a heartfelt post: 'To become timeless is the most beautiful mark'
The passing of legendary actor, writer, and director Sreenivasan has left Malayalam cinema heartbroken. Actress Manju Warrier shared a deeply emotional note on Facebook, remembering the man she lovingly called Sreeniyettan.
She wrote on her social media handle, “To become timeless is the most beautiful mark an artist can leave on this earth. Through his writing, acting, and direction, Sreeniyettan achieved that.”
Manju Warrier added that in many ways and at many levels, he rose above time.
Manju Warrier spoke about her personal memories with Sreenivasan. She wrote, “I have so many personal memories. No matter what he said, Sreeniyettan would always end it with a loud laugh.” Sharing her pain, she added, “For the first time, he has made me cry.”
Believing that only his body is gone and that his name will live on for a long time, she offered her final tribute.
Sreenivasan passed away early morning on December 20 after suffering breathing difficulties while being taken for dialysis.
As reported by Mathrubhumi, Sreenivasan was rushed to the Tripunithura Taluk Hospital, where he passed away shortly after. His funeral rites will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m. at his residence in Kandanad, Tripunithura. His mortal remains were kept for public viewing at the Town Hall and later at his home, where thousands came to pay their respects.
Mammootty also remembered his close friend with a simple message that read, “Can’t stop thinking about you, my friend…”
He added, “He left without saying goodbye. I don’t know how to put into words the deep soul-connection I shared with Sreeni.” He added, “Malayalis saw their own face in the characters Sreeni created. Through him, they saw their own pains and joys.”
Remembering their iconic roles, Mohanlal said, “Dasan and Vijayan became people of our own for every Malayali solely because of Sreeni’s blessed brilliance in writing.”
