Chidambaram, following a complaint by a young woman who alleged that the filmmaker forcefully entered her flat and behaved inappropriately. According to Asianet News, the Ernakulam South Police registered the case based on her formal statement. According to officers, the complaint contains detailed claims about an incident that allegedly happened two years ago. Police added that they will move ahead only after completing all required checks and procedures.
Allegations date back to 2022
Reportedly, two charges have been filed in the case: assault with the intention of insulting a woman’s modesty, and inappropriate physical contact with a woman. The woman stated that the incident occurred in 2022. She accused Chidambaram of entering her flat in Elamkulam with sexual intent and misbehaving. Her complaint states he “forcefully entered the flat and behaved inappropriately.” Police confirmed that the FIR was registered solely on the basis of her testimony. They also said that “further action will be taken only after a detailed investigation”.
Investigation expected to continue over the coming days
Police sources noted that such cases require careful evidence collection. They said the timeline of events will be verified, and statements from all relevant individuals will be recorded. Officers added that they will proceed as per legal protocol and avoid speculation.
As of now, officials have not disclosed whether they plan to summon Chidambaram for questioning.

Chidambaram denies collaboration rumors with Dileep
The filmmaker recently addressed a claim that he was teaming up with actor Dileep for a new project.
Reacting strongly to the speculation, Chidambaram dismissed the reports and asked social media pages to verify information before posting it. He clarified that he has no connection with the so-called “survival thriller” project that certain accounts had claimed he was directing with Dileep.
Sharing a news card from one such post on his Instagram Story, he wrote: “Please verify before you post trash. And I am not a survival thriller specialist.”
In another Instagram story, he responded to a claim that he is collaborating with Dileep and labelled it “Fake.”
