Meera Jasmine reveals that she was stuck in the role after ‘Achuvinte Amma’: ‘I felt like I was still Urvashi chechi's daughter’

National award-winning actress Meera Jasmine is all set to deliver her next ‘Paalum Pazhavum’. The film directed by VK Prakash is slated for release today, August 23. Meera Jasmine, who often has an in-depth approach to the roles she plays, recently shared that some characters took a toll on her.

She spoke about how she was stuck in the character of Achu from ‘Achuvinte Amma’ even after the release. In an interview with The New Indian Express, Meera Jasmine recounted how she struggled to move on from her role in ‘Achuvinte Amma’ even after the film's release. She found it incredibly difficult to transition to her next project, a Telugu film titled ‘Bhadra’ (2005), which was a light-hearted masala entertainer.

She stated that even after completing ‘Achuvinte Amma’ she felt like she was ‘still Urvashi chechi’s daughter’ and her mind was stuck somewhere in Kozhikode and the house, and the song still lingered in her head. She expressed that it even affected her health for over a week.

For the unversed, veteran Urvashi essayed the role of Meera Jasmine’s mother figure in ‘Achuvinte Amma’. The film won Urvashi the National award for Best Supporting Actress.

Meera Jasmine also spoke about films like ‘Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam (2003)’, and ‘Perumazhakkalam (2004)’, have left her depressed. The actress shared that though she still encounters such experiences occasionally, she has learned not to let them affect her for more than a day.
