Mohanlal, who has cemented his place among the audience as one of the best actors, is aiming a little high by donning the director’s cap for the upcoming film ‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’. Recently the actor dropped a picture from the sets of the film where he is looking dapper, clad in a camouflage shirt and jacket, khaki pants, and white cap.

'Manjadikuru' was the directorial debut of Anjali Menon. The story revolved around the 10-year-old kid named Vicky who arrives in Kerala from Dubai to attend his grandfather’s funeral. Anjali Menon got much adulation for the flawless execution of the film.

After directing the short film titled ‘Kelkkunnundo’, Geethu Mohandas helmed the Hindi film ‘Liar’s Dice’ and later ‘Moothon’ aka ‘The Elder one’. The film featured the actors Nivin Pauly, Roshan Mathew, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Harish Khanna.

Director - Journalist Vidhu Vincent made her directorial debut with the award-winning feature film ‘Man Hole’ and later she directed the drama film ‘Stand Up’ starring Rajisha Vijayan, Arjun Ashokan, and Venkitesh VP.

Actress Revathi donned the director’s cap for the segment ‘Makal’ in the anthology film ‘Kerala Cafe’. She has also directed the films ‘Mitr: My Friend’, and ‘Phir Milenge’.

After directing the short film ‘Panthibhojanam', Sreebala K Menon wrote and directed the Dileep starrer film ‘Love 24*7’ and the story was set in the backdrop of media.

Shalini Ushadevi directed the Fahadh Faasil starrer film ‘Akam’ which was the modern re-telling of the novel ‘Yakshi’ written by Malayatoor Ramakrishnan.

The Lal - Nazriya Nazim starrer ‘Maad Dad’ was the sophomore directorial venture of Revathy S Varma.

The Prithviraj Sukumaran - Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer ‘My Story’ was the directorial debut of Roshni Dinaker under the script penned down by Shankar Ramakrishnan.

It's hard not to mention these two beautiful crafts ‘Bangalore Days’ and ‘Koode’, when you contemplate on the best films of Anjali Menon.



Meanwhile, the shoot for ‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ is going in full swing and the makers are planning to shoot in several locations including Kochi, Goa, Dehradun, Guinea, and Portugal.

The shoot for the film was earlier halted due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and as per the reports several actors have been opted out from the film due to date clashes. The reports also suggest that major portions of the film will be reshot with new actors.

‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ is stacked with a list of talented casts that includes Guru Somasundaram,

Rafael Amargo

, Maya, Paz Vega, and Cesar Lorente Raton. Santosh Sivan will crank the lens for the film whereas, the music and editing sections will be handled by Lydian Nadhaswaram and Sreekar Prasad respectively.

The script for ‘Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure’ is penned by Jijo Punnosse who is best known for helming India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ which was released in the year 1984.

On the other hand, Mohanlal’s calendar for 2022 is filled with several highly anticipated projects such as ‘Alone’, ‘12th Man’, ‘Monster’, ‘Ram’, and L2: Empuraan’.
