The Malayalam film industry was deeply saddened by the loss of R. Subbalakshmi, a respected actor and musician recognized for her affectionate grandmother roles in different films. She passed away at the age of 87 on Thursday, November 30, while receiving medical treatment at a private hospital due to her illness.
Renowned figures in Mollywood, including iconic actors Mohanlal and Mammootty, expressed their heartfelt condolences over the loss. Mohanlal, sharing a picture of the late actor, conveyed his grief simply with the word "condolences."
Legendary actor Mammootty also shared a picture of Subbalakshmi via his official Facebook handle and penned a note that read, "Condolences.”

Fans flooded Dileep's post, reminiscing about the iconic roles Subbalakshmi portrayed in movies like 'Kalyana Raman' and 'Pandipada,' acknowledging her exceptional talent.
Subbalakshmi's legacy extended beyond the Malayalam film industry, with notable appearances in Tamil films like Vijay starrer 'Beast,' the Telugu remake of 'Kalyanaraman,' and Gautam Menon's 'Ye Maaya Chesave.' Her versatility shone through even in the Hindi film circuit, where she portrayed impactful roles.
