Mohanlal unveils animated character ‘Voodoo’ in new promo for Barroz

Actor-turned-director Mohanlal is creating waves with his highly anticipated directorial debut, Barroz 3D: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure, slated for a grand theatrical release on December 25. As part of the film’s promotions, the makers have introduced a fascinating new animated character named ‘Voodoo’ through an engaging promo video.

In the quirky promo, Mohanlal himself is seen interacting with the lively animated character, providing audiences with a glimpse of the film’s unique blend of fantasy and storytelling.

Sharing the promo, Mohanla penned a Tweet that reads, “Thrilled to introduce 'Voodoo,' my incredible co-star in #Barroz3D! Can't wait for you all to see the magic unfold.”

During the promotional event, Mohanlal said, “It will be the first time in Indian cinema where a live action character is placed throughout the movie.”

Based on Jijo Punnoose's novel ‘Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure’, the film is a period fantasy drama that delves into the tale of a mystical ghost who guards the legendary treasures of the da Gama Palace. Mohanlal steps into the titular role of Barroz, a valiant protector committed to safeguarding the palace’s hidden riches from intruders.

The recently released virtual 3D trailer sets the tone for the film’s fantastical narrative. It opens with a voiceover introducing the enigmatic ghost and transitions to reveal Mohanlal’s commanding presence as Barroz.

While the Unni Mukundan starrer ‘Marco’ is suitable for mature audiences due to its violent nature, Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’ is expected to draw more family audiences to the theatres.
