Mohanlal’s Ooty residence now open to visitors for short-term vacations? here’s what we know
Mohanlal has now made his holiday home in Ooty available for short stays. According to the latest reports, the scenic villa, Hideaway, has been opened to guests seeking a high-end travel experience amidst nature.
About Mohanlal's Ooty residence
A recent report by Mathrubhumi suggests that the property, located just 15 minutes from the heart of Ooty town, is managed privately. The villa offers an opulent stay experience, with a nightly base rate of Rs 37,000 (excluding taxes).
The three-bedroom bungalow is more than just a plush residence—it offers a glimpse into Mohanlal’s cinematic legacy and family life. Each room has its own distinct character: one is themed after his daughter Vismaya’s love for nature, while another, with views of a lush garden, reflects the aesthetic of his son, actor Pranav Mohanlal. The central living area, dubbed The Family Room, features a fireplace surrounded by nearly 300 artworks that pay tribute to the history of Malayalam cinema.
Adding to its uniqueness is a separate section known as The Gun House, which functions as both a bar and a mini-museum. It houses replica props from Mohanlal’s films, including Barroz and Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea.
Guests are also treated to authentic Kerala cuisine, prepared by the in-house chef who has been with the Mohanlal family for 25 years.
Recently, Mollywood actor Mammootty also opened his residence, Mammootty House, in Kochi for public stays. It is priced at Rs 75,000 per night.
Mohanlal's work front
On the work front, Mohanlal is currently enjoying the success of his recent release Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy. He is set to appear in a cameo role in Vishnu Manchu’s mythological epic Kannappa. The film also features Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohan Babu, Kajal Aggarwal, and many others in key roles. It is scheduled for release on June 27.
Mohanlal will also be seen next in Hridayapoorvam, alongside Malavika Mohanan. He is further set to collaborate with Mahesh Narayanan and Mammootty on an upcoming film.
