Popular Malayalam music director Kailas Menon’s father Dr. AR Ramachandra Menon passed away. He was 71. A retired scientist of Kerala Forest Research Institute, AR Ramachandra Menon passed away on Thursday morning (Sep 22). The funeral will be held on Friday (Sep 23) afternoon, at 1 pm at Ravipuram Crematorium.
Kailas Menon took to his social media handle to share his loss. “My father, Dr. A.R.Ramachandra Menon, 71, Rtd. Scientist, K.F.R.I, Aryappallil Family, Kumarakom, passed away early morning today. Body will be kept at the clubhouse, D.D Silverstone, Vaduthala, Ernakulam on 23rd Friday from 8am-12 noon. Cremation at Ravipuram Crematorium at 1pm on the same day,” he penned.
Many M-town celebrities including musicians Hesham Abdul Wahab, Ranjin Raj, and Job Kurian extended condolences to the family. "Heartfelt condolences brother," Hesham Abdul Wahab said. "Heartfelt condolences brother!!! Prayers," Ranjin Raj wrote. Producer-actor Sandra Thomas penned, "Heartfelt Condolences ��." Actress Divya Pillai wrote, "My prayers are with you and your family����." "Extremely sorry for your loss," actress Gauthami Nair wrote. Filmmaker Jis Joy. actress Mridula Varrier and many others paid their respect via social media.
Kailas Menon, who ventured into movies in 2011, grabbed the limelight after his compositions in Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Theevandi’ became chartbusters.
On the work front, Kailas Menon’s latest outing is ‘Kotthu’ directed by Sibi Malayil. The film featured Asif Ali, Nikhila Vimal, and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles. ‘Kotthu’ hit the cinemas last Friday (Sep 16) and is receiving an impressive response from the audience.
